Single Stream Recycling Information

Tires (no rims) 2 per person/week $1.00 each

TVs, Computer monitors & Computer CPUs (tower) $5.00 each

ITEMS ACCEPTED ON DEMO DEBRIS DAYS ONLY

  • Mattresses or stuffed furniture $10.00 each
  • Rugs or Carpets $10.00 each
  • Bureaus/desks/etc. $10.00 each
  • Shingles or construction debris (no blocks or brick) Maximum of 3 loads. Cost determined by Attendant. 

  NO ANIMAL CARCASSES, STUMPS OR ASHES ARE TO BE DISPOSED OF AT THE TRANSFER STATION.

The transfer station no longer accepts brush and wood for burning.  Buring permits can be obtained at the Fraternity Village General Store.

IT IS ILLEGAL TO BURN TRASH IN BACK YARD BURN BARRELS, CAMPFIRES, OUT OF DOOR FIREPLACES AND INCINERATORS. IT IS ALSO ILLEGAL TO BURN PLASTICS SUCH AS VINYL IN DEMO DEBRIS PILES. THIS IS NOW STATE LAW BECAUSE OF HEALTH RISKS DUE TO BURNING TRASH.

DEMO DEBRIS DAYS

Demo debris days are scheduled each year during the warm months.  Dates will be posted here and signs will be posted at the Community Building, Store and Post Office.

Trash Bags

Trash Bags can be purchased at the Town Office or the Transfer Station during their regular hours.

Effective March 31, 2009

New Bag Fees for Household Trash Disposal Only Contractor Bag over 33 gallons = $4.00

Commercial bag 33 gallons or less = $2.00

Orange Town bags 30 gal = 5 for $5.00, no additional cost for disposal

Blue Town bags 10 gal - 10 for $5.00, no additional cost for disposal

If you place a commercial bag inside a town bag, the town bag MUST be able to close.
