Planning Board Minutes

November 18, 2008

 

1. Call to Order: 7:00pm

 

2. Attendance:  Vice Chair: Paul Leeper, Andrea Walker, Dave    Marceau, Jack Degraff,    Dave Marceau and Steve Porter.

 

3. Minutes: Review of October 21, 2008 and November 4, 2008 Minutes. Motion made, seconded and passed unanimously to accept with minor changes.

 

4. Applications and Requests: None. 

 

5.  Communications:

     Paul contacted Rich Baker concerning Ruffingham Meadow Pond being in IWWH. It currently has a 250 ft setback in Resource Protection. Rich Baker felt that developed areas should not be in Resource Protection.

 

 

6. Old Business: Review of the proposed Searsmont updated wetland map and Resource Protection/Limited Resource areas continued.

   Analysis of the new State Ordinance, for the town of Searsmont’s adoption, began the review Process. Further discussion on Inland Wading bird and Waterfowl Habitat and Current Searsmont Shoreland Zoning Maps were discussed.

     Paul Leeper will review the text in the town’s Ordinance and make sure it will match the map. It was the Boards census, that emergent wetlands of greater than 2 acres and forested wetlands that abut a stream should be mapped in Resource Protection.

 

7.  New Business:

   There will be a public notice posted in town and in the newspaper that the Town of Searsmont is working on Shoreland Zoning regulations state mandated guidelines. The Planning Board will be  having a public meeting on  the ordinance and map modifications  that will be presented on the town warrant.  The posting will include the time and date of the public informational meeting.
