Planning Board Minutes

March 20, 2007

 

 

  1.  Call to Order:  7:00 p.m.

 

  1. Attendance:  Chair: George Sprowl, Vice Chair:  Paul Leeper, Peter Jolliffe,

      Jack Degraff, Dave Marceau, Steve Porter, with a special presentation by

     Selectman, Bruce Brierly.

 

3.   Election of Officers:  George Sprowl was elected as Chairperson and Paul

      Leeper as Vice- Chair person for the Planning Board.

 

4.   Review of Application and Request: None.

 

5.      Minutes: Review of March 6, 2007 Minutes: Motion made to accept minutes with

      one minor change, seconded, and passed unanimously.

 

6.          Communication: George Sprowl called Eric Gallant from Mid Coast Maine Planning Commission and left a message with him to call a meeting with Searsmont Planning Board for advice and council on the towns comprehsive plan. He will call back.

 

7.     Old Business:   

 

·                    Town Selectman, Bruce Brierly gave a report on  Maine’s State Statues of Road and Byway laws.  He spoke with Becky Seals whom is a MMA lawyer.  Bruce also acquired a record of the State laws pertaining to Road and Easement laws.  This copy is in the Searsmont Town Office for viewing.

·                    The Board discussed a plan to review the Comprehensive Plan in a systematic way, beginning with the zoning of the five districts of Searsmont and starting  with the review of Shoreland Zoning.  All judgments will be based on Stacy Benjamin’s recommendations that are outlined in her SJB suggested Comprehensive Manual.

 

8.    New Business:  None

 

9.    Adjournment:  Motion made to adjourn at 9:00 p.m. seconded, and passed

                    Unanimously.
