Planning Board Minutes

April 3, 2007

 

 

  1. Call To Order: 7:00 p.m.

 

  1. Attendance: Chair: George Sprowl, Vice Chair: Paul Leeper, Peter Jolliffe, Dave Marceau, Steve Porter, and Wayne Thomas.

 

  1. Review of Applications and Requests:  None.

 

  1. Minutes: Review of March 20, 2007 minutes.  Motion made and accepted with one minor change.

 

  1. Election of Officers:  Motion made, seconded and passed unanimously to elect Jack DeGraff as Treasurer/Secretary.

 

  1. Communications:

·                    Eric Gallant from the Mid-Coast Maine Planning Commission in Rockland (http://www.midcoastplanning.org/) met with the planning Board concerning issues of modifying and updating the Comprehensive Plan for the Town of Searsmont. It is a necessary procedure that the Planning Board feels Eric Gallant’s expertise could help with. Eric offers helpful insight to state laws, and mandates while always working with the town’s interest in mind. 

·                    Further Board discussions will take place to decide whether to hire him or not to help formulate the towns Comprehensive Plan. Selectman, Bruce Brierly will check with selectman, Stacy Benjamin about funding and grants that are available to pay for the cost of hiring Eric Gallant.

 

  1. Old Business:

·                    The board discussed ways to adopt the State Memorandum on Shoreland Zoning. Details of this required town vote Memorandum, can be found at the following web-site:
